Information & Referral
The Center for Women provides a wide range of information and referrals over the phone, in person, and through this website. The C4W's Referral and Resource Directory contains an comprehensive database of community outreach organizations and agencies that offer support services for women and their families.
The C4W also utilizes the 2-1-1 Hotline Directory of Community Services in making referrals. Check our Resources | Links section for links with a wide variety of organizations and resources that assist women. Know more>>

Counseling
Counseling is available to women who need assistance in problem solving strategies and identifying community resources that can address long-term needs. C4W Counselors meet with clients by appointment only to develop individual problem solving strategies.
Fees are based on a modest sliding scale. Contact us if you are interested in Counseling or to make an appointment. When you make an appointment, we hold a credit card on file.
The median amount ($20) will be charged only if you give us less than a 24 hour cancellation notice or if you do not show for your scheduled appointment.
Our Counselors
Solange Swafford is credentialed as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and an LISW Supervisor in Charleston, SC. She holds a Master of Clinical Social Work degree from Washington University in St Louis and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina. With over a decade of experience working in hospitals, a children’s advocacy center and outpatient mental health settings, Solange has helped adults, adolescents and children overcome obstacles, achieve their goals and have happier, more fulfilling lives.
Kathryn Warfuel, LPC-I comes with a wealth of her own experiences, which have equipped her in dealing with most of life's challenges. She holds have a Bachelor's Degree in Art Ed. and a Master's in Special Ed. After more than 25 years in education, she relocated to the Charleston area, and received a Maters Degree in Counseling at The Citadel. She’s able to deal with a variety of issues, including Divorce, Grief Recovery, Parenting Skills, Addictive Behaviors, Anger Management, Behavior Management and Coping Skills. Her passion is to help those who want to reach their full potential and overcome some of life's stumbling blocks.
