Thanks
to the detail-oriented work of Jennet Robinson Alterman,
Amanda Bunting Comen, and Leigh Ann Szteiter (Center for Women
staff), Saturday yielded a phenomenal day of networking and
empowerment, as savvy women from near and far participated in
the 11th Annual Centering on Women Conference. I spent part
of the morning with Rosalie Smithy Bradham (Raymond James),
Tracy Maynier (Oppenheimer Funds), Alex
Opoulos (Merrill Lynch),
and Alyssa J. Rakovich (Smith Barney) who volunteered their
time, as did many other distinguished professionals, to lead
a fantastic seminar. Familiar faces throughout the day included
Barbara Graves, Laura Bright (Maverick Southern Kitchens), and
Archie Burkel (Founder, The Hat Ladies) while delightful new
acquaintances included Kathleen Fox, Maria Pearson, and Stacey
Evangelist (professional organizer).

Over
lunch, attendees were charmed by the melodic southern lilt
of S.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Hoefer
Toal, who
had the entire ballroom hanging on her every delightful and
insightful word. |
