Sponsored Event

Let’s Celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Voting Rights for Women

The League of Women Voters of the Charleston Area invites you to join them for a special dinner event on Women's Equality Day, which this year marks the 90th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment that extended voting rights to women. It will also be a celebration of the 90th year of the national League of Women Voters.

Inez Tenenbaum, Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and former SC Superintendent of Education, will be the keynote speaker. The League will also be honoring eight Elected Women of Distinction from the tri-county area and recognizing the winners of its Girl Scout poster and essay contest.  This once-in-a-decade event is a fundraiser for the League of Women Voters of the Charleston Area. For more information or to register for the event, go to the League’s website  www.lwvcharleston.org. Tickets are $60.
